Bending

Bending is a process of shaping objects made of materials such as:

• sheet metal
• bar stocks
• profiles
• wires
• pipes.

The process of bending consists in permanent deformation of the material, maintaining at the same time its cohesion. The process is safe for the bent material, and it includes cold bending, as well as heat bending.

We distinguish the following bending methods:

• bending on a press
• drawing
• bending with a plate rolling machine.

Bending on a press is the quickest and the most frequently used method of shaping bent products in craft workshops.
