What is laser micromachining?

Laser micromachining involves processes similar to traditional machining, only that they are performed on a micro scale. Laser micromachining also includes processes such as:

It is increasingly used in industrial sectors, mainly in electronics for the production of electronic circuits, in the medical industry and in precision mechanics. But this type of machining also works well with materials of different shapes - from sheet metal of varying thicknesses through pipes to details with complex geometries. Of course, we must bear in mind that the wide variation in material parameters makes it extremely important to select the right laser for the specific application. For example, a fibre laser is optimal for metal parts, while a CO2 laser is the right choice for wood.
