Fiber lasers are the most intricate CNC machines. This is why it is so important to have an expert service to ensure the machine has a long and fault-free life. Unfortunately, servicing fibre lasers requires that the service technician has at least several years experience of working with lasers. Adequate expertise and experience are key, as the cost of service, including spare parts or correctly diagnosing the cause of failure, depends on their work. The laser s high level of complexity means that laser machines should only be operated by properly trained operators.

In some cases, remote service of the laser cutter is possible. Some manufacturers emphasise that they have remote diagnostics, but this only covers the connection to the laser s central control unit and only applies to standard controllers. But in addition to the costs associated with the work of the service technician, one has to account for the expenses associated with spare parts. The first group are the so-called consumable parts, i.e. those that can wear out or possibly break down during the operation of the laser. This group includes, for example, nozzles, the ceramic components into which these nozzles are screwed, or safety glasses.
