The process of sheet metal forming

Sheet metal forming allows to modify geometry and structure. It is the most frequently used method which, generally speaking, is the most favourable for everybody. Within the scope of sheet metal forming we think about such processes as: bending, rolling, grooving, punching or pressing. Such great development is made possible by reliable and state-of-the-art machines, that is presses.

Presses include bending brake controlled by means of a computer (CNC). Thanks to computer control, we can supervise the whole forming process and high precision and repeatability of the bending process. We can also choose from hydraulic presses, eccentric presses and manual presses (the least complicated to use). Sheet metal forming can be performed also by means of other machines, such as: table shears, belt grinders, (laser) metal sheet cutters or circle bending rolls etc. All of these machines can vary in terms of technology or quality of materials; however, they all can achieve desired effects. Depending on the advancement of their technology, they can achieve better or a little bit worse results while bending sheet metals.

Due to the large number of available machines for sheet metal forming, we must consider whether we are facing bulk or low-volume production. Of course, each production plant knows its production capacity and can estimate production costs.
